Monday is "MLK Day" in the U.S.
Beyond all of his accomplishments, Dr. King left us an important question to ponder.
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is:
'What are you doing for others?'"
MLK Day is, therefore, also a Day of Service.
On November 2, 1983, President Reagan signed a Bill creating a national holiday to mark the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Mrs. King was present at the signing ceremony and also spoke to the gathered crowd.

Dear Friends, We have some exciting news! During this month - the 21st anniversary of our founding - you will see some dynamic changes designed to better serve you, our AwesomeStories' subscribers. AwesomeStories will have a new homepage with a clean look, for easier navigation, and you will also have considerably more customer support. Of course, you can expect more curriculum-supporting stories in the new year to further augment your students' learning journeys. With these changes will come a new subscription rate for individual teachers - for full use of the AwesomeStories library/archive (which will soon be fully available only to subscribers) and our apps - and an introductory, first-year-reduced rate for new users. For school memberships, a graduated, enrollment-based rate will reduce school and per-student subscription costs and will make Awesome Stories an affordable possibility for your entire school. With Gratitude, Carole Bos, Founder
